The Cres island

The Cres island
Cres is, being equally large as Krk, the largest island on the Adriatic coast. The island is located in the northern part of the Kvarner bay, next to the peninsula Istria, and administratively a part of the Primorsko-Goranska county. On the southern part of the island is Osor, where a swivel bridge connects it to Lošinj. The largest locality is the city Cres. It also homes one of the last remaining colonies of griffon vultures in Europe, which are taken care of in a nature conservation center in Beli.
