HIKING ON THE ISLAND OF KORČULA

Take a hiking tour through the olive groves and abundant Mediterranean vegetation, enjoy the views of the most
beautiful beaches and relax in the hotel right by the sea.

PROGRAM:
Day 1: Arrival, meeting with the guide, half board in
hotel.
Day 2: Drive to town of Korčula, hike Korčula - Žrnovo-Brdo Kočje
The
hike is partially on country road and partially on theold road, where the old
quarries were.
Approx. 3.5 Km to go up the hill, where under cypress and olive
trees the old mountain village Žrnovo lies; it is the village of the famous master
stonemasons, today mostly abandoned.
We walk further uphill to the village part
Brdo. From there, the north side of the island we go to the Nature Park Kočje.
Between rocks, caves and trees of Dalmatian oak we reach the south side of the
park.
From there, the path leads into the heart of the island,
until Napoleon-way Žrnovo and down to Korčula.
Day 3: The hike
Korčula Žrnovo-Postrana-Lokvica-Sv. Rok stonemason workshop.
The path leads us uphill to Postrana, on the mountain
side; the highest point is Lokvica - the unique central cistern of the village.
From Lokvica spreads a beautiful view: olive-groves,
vineyards and cypress forest. Walk through old village, to the mason workshop.
Day 4: Free day.
Day 5: Homeward journey.
